Tell us a bit about your background

Although comms may not be everyone’s vocation, it is something that I have always enjoyed; I went straight into PR from university when a friend of a friend told me in a Clapham pub one night that I should consider financial PR as a career because “you’ve got common sense, you get on with people and you don’t have to do any extra qualifications” – all of which fitted the bill for me aged 21! Thank you, Buster Cheetham.

In a nutshell, describe your role and how you support business objectives

I oversee internal, Corporate Social Responsibility and external corporate communications at Three UK. So ultimately I am responsible for ensuring our people fully understand our key messages and activity and that our external reputation is upheld. Plus helping communicate the amazing difference we can make with our CSR work.

What is the main ambition of your team for 2021?

There are loads of great things that we’ve got planned for 2021 – including launching a charity partnership, getting people engaged with the new office in Green Park, Reading, making the intranet easier to use for all employees, keeping everyone up to date with what we’re doing with the network; the list goes on. Ultimately, my ambition for the team is to give everyone who works at Three UK a real sense of pride in the business.

What does Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mean at Three UK?

CSR covers what we do at Three UK in relation to the broader society, whether that is what we do with charity, how we treat our employees and customers or how we treat the environment and deal with sustainability. There are lots of exciting plans in play but we already do a lot, such as our Discovery programme. And part of the responsibility of my team is to bring all of this activity together under a consistent strategy, to let our people know all about it and provide opportunities for them to get involved.
