Community fund winners announced
We’re excited to announce the Q2 winners of the Community Fund! These grants, totalling £5,000, were awarded to five incredible charitable organisations, all nominated by our own people.
A Huge Congratulations to Our Winners:
£2,000 Award – Team Jak Foundation
Team Jak Foundation provides vital emotional, social, and practical support to children and young people aged 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses across Scotland. They currently support 490 families.
Nominated by Martin McBreen, Commercial
Martin’s nomination came after his three-year-old daughter, Indy, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Since her diagnosis, Indy has undergone more than 100 doses of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and spent nearly 60 nights in the Royal Glasgow Hospital for Children.
Martin shared: “During our time in the hospital, Team Jak kept Indy entertained with arts, crafts, and music, and supported my wife and me through the toughest times. Now that Indy is home, we’ve benefited from their resource centre, Jak’s Den, which offers a safe space for families like ours.”
£1,000 Award – Time to Talk West Berkshire
This charity provides life-changing counselling for young people aged 11-25 and young parents in West Berkshire. They support over 600 young people every year, and our donation will fund two full courses of counselling.
Nominated by Carla Meads, Technology
Carla has been involved with fundraising for the charity since childhood, and her father serves as Treasurer.
£1,000 Award – Promise Inclusion
Promise Inclusion works to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism by providing lifelong support and activities across Wokingham and Bracknell Forest.
Nominated by Andrew McKeown, Technology
Andrew, who recently ran his first marathon to raise funds for the charity, is thrilled that this award pushes his total raised to £3,000. Well done, Andrew!
£500 Award – The Ways and Means Trust
This charity helps adults with learning, physical, or mental health disabilities through work-based training programs, including a horticultural therapy unit.
Nominated by Adrian Wright, Technology
Adrian’s team volunteers annually at the charity, using their Personal Days to build rainwater capture tanks, a pond, raised beds, and deer-proof fencing. He applied to the Community Fund to help cover materials for their next project.
£500 Award – Autism NI
This charity supports autistic individuals and their families throughout Northern Ireland.
Nominated by Mathew Guy, Retail
