Three UK earns prestigious global health and safety award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
Three UK has been awarded its 7th consecutive RoSPA Gold award at this year’s RoSPA Health and Safety Awards.
The esteemed RoSPA Awards program celebrates its 68th year as the UK’s largest and most impactful health and safety programme. With almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, impacting over seven million employees, they offer a platform to spotlight an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in health and safety. Winning our 7th in a row RoSPA Gold Award, demonstrates Three’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in health and safety.
The People Workspace Health, Safety, Environment and Energy (HSEE) Team led the annual award application which includes performance statistics, over 100 pieces of evidence and an accompanying narrative of 6,000 words. The submission to RoSPA consisted of examples from across all areas of the business showcasing strong and effective leadership, governance, and risk management. Collating this evidence was only possible due to the continued commitment and contribution to health and safety which our employees and contractors demonstrate every day.
Our Gold medal winning portfolio of evidence included:
- Strong health and safety leadership including examples of leaders promoting health and safety and taking responsibility to manage risks.
- Training and induction to sites; providing information and instruction on hazards and specialist training for those carrying out higher risk work.
- Collaboration with our supply chain and network stakeholders to manage complex and potentially fatal risks across network operations and workspace mechanical and electrical engineering projects.
- Leveraging the health and safety expertise of key master partners CBRE, Gleeds, Turner and Townsend
- Our management of incidents and accidents and our occupational health policy, assessments and supports.
- Consultation with employees through our committees and forums.
Mark Meakin, Health, Safety, Environment and Energy Lead at Three UK, said: “Workplace injuries and ill health significantly impact the quality of life for individuals and their families. The RoSPA award demonstrates our continued dedication as an organisation to ensure everybody connected with our business goes home safe and well to family and friends. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this award with the great things you do every day to keep people safe such as – having a safety conversation, challenging a colleague, inducting new starters, signing a risk assessment, wiping up a spill or putting out a wet floor sign. A fantastic achievement we should all be very proud of!”
