Three to unleash the power of 5G so everyone can use it to its full potential on the UK’s fastest 5G network

  • Three is the first network to offer 5G to all, unrestricted and at no extra cost
  • 5G available across all existing tariffs including PAYG
  • Unlimited 5G on SIM only plans start at just £20

Maidenhead, UK. Friday, July 26, 2019 – Three has announced that all new and existing customers will have access to 5G with no speed caps and at no extra cost on all contract, SIM only and PAYG mobile plans.

Three is giving customers all the freedom they need to use 5G whenever and however they wish without worrying about any hidden or extra costs all on the UK’s fastest 5G network.

Unlimited data is crucial for people to fully enjoy the capabilities of 5G and Three will be emphasising the benefits of unlimited plans so customers can truly make the most of it.

Three’s superior 5G network:

Three will roll out its 5G mobile network later this year, across 25 cities, and its customers will benefit from the vast 5G capacity, reliability and speeds that only Three has access to, due to the amount of spectrum (airwaves) it owns. Three is the only UK network that can offer customers a ‘true’ 5G experience thanks to its 100MHz of contiguous spectrum*.

All new and existing Three customers with a 5G ready device will be able to seamlessly enjoy the benefits of 5G. Therefore any techie fans that are keen to get their hands on the latest 5G handsets ahead of network launch, will be futureproofed. Customers can adjust their data plan as soon as 5G is available in their area. So if they wish to take advantage of unlimited data and the best 5G speeds from Three, they can.

Three has always been the network for data with its customers using 3.5x more data than anyone els. The introduction of 5G will mean data use is set to increase by 13x in 2025**. With this in mind, Three is therefore making it really simple for customers to take advantage of the all the benefits of 5G – without worrying about the amount of data they are using.

Dave Dyson, CEO at Three, said: “Three is leading the way with 5G, by providing our customers with unlimited data and the fastest speeds. Our customers will be able to enjoy and explore a full 5G experience, at the same cost as 4G.

“The forthcoming months are going to be game-changing and with our unrestricted plans, we are looking forward to unleashing the full potential of 5G to all.”

Network improvements for all:

80% of Three’s network traffic today will be covered by 5G within three years.

It’s not just those with access to 5G that will benefit. Three has invested £2bn in its network to meet the ever-increasing customer demand for mobile data and services – no matter whether you are on 5G, 4G or 3G. This will boost average data speeds by up to 50% and customers may already have spotted the 4G+ logo on their device.

Three’s 5G ready handsets:

For those customers wanting to get their hands on the very latest handsets ready for the roll-out they can do so with the new Huawei Mate 20 X 5G device going on sale today.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G are soon to follow and will also launch as 5G ready on Three within the coming month.
