Three says auf wiedersehen to roaming charges in even more destinations

Today roaming expert Three reveals great news for travellers by announcing its Feel at Home service, which allows people to use their phone abroad at no extra cost, will extend to an additional 24 European destinations, including Germany, Portugal and Greece from September.

Three was the first network to scrap roaming charges for its customers in a range of destinations back in 2013 and continues to lead the market with its biggest stand against unfair roaming charges to date, making Feel at Home the most attractive offer for phone users in the UK as they will now be able to tweet, snap and browse the web in a total of 42 destinations, without the fear of bill shock on return.

The new destinations will join Brit holiday hot spots such as France, Spain and Italy, where customers have been enjoying calling, texting home and using data at no extra cost on the Three network for the past three years.

It doesn’t stop with Europe. Feel at Home is also available in a range of global destinations and so is perfect for those heading off on a far-flung adventure, whether that’s to Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia or the USA, something that no other network currently offers.

Dave Dyson, CEO at Three, commented: ““We have led the way in tackling the issues that frustrate UK consumers and rip-off roaming charges are one of the biggest causes of bill shock.

We were the first to introduce roaming at no extra cost and now we cover 42 destinations – more than any other network.  These have been prioritised based on customer feedback and now over 80% of our customers’ trips abroad are to Feel At Home destinations, covering the most popular travel spots both within and outside of Europe.”

In celebration of its roaming offering, Three opens the doors to a Three Travel Agency at Westfield Stratford on 12th August. Three, and Joey Essex, have launched a campaign –Three travel – celebrating the demise of the once popular selfie and encouraging the British public to turn their cameras around and capture forward facing shots. Free holidays are up for grabs by keeping up the #holidayspam, and sharing holiday fronties on social media. Three’s also inviting people to go down to the pop-up Three travel store for a chance to win more holidays and meet Joey Essex.

Feel at Home is currently available in 18 destinations worldwide: Spain, France, Switzerland, Israel, Finland, Norway, USA, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Macau, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden, Denmark, Republic of Ireland and from September will be available in 42 in total, which will include Germany, Greece, Portugal. Croatia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Malta, Lithuania, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Channel Islands (Guernsey and Jersey).
