Xiaomi and CK Hutchison mark anniversary of strategic alliance with launch of Mi 11 Lite 5G

London, U.K., May 10, 2021 – Xiaomi, global technology leader and CK Hutchison Holdings (“CK Hutchison”), a multinational conglomerate spanning over 50 countries, today marked the three year anniversary of their global strategic alliance with the launch of Mi 11 Lite 5G across Europe; one of the world’s thinnest and lightest 5G smartphones.

In May 2018, CK Hutchison and Xiaomi formed a global strategic alliance to bring Xiaomi’s smartphones, IoT and lifestyle products to its telecom and retail divisions across the world. In Europe, Xiaomi products are available in 3 Group stores in U.K., Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Austria and Denmark. Over these past three years this alliance has helped the international expansion of Xiaomi, the brand is now the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world and in Western Europe.

European sales of Xiaomi smartphones through CK Hutchison retail stores have risen year-on-year. In fact, in 2020 sales increased by 385%, demonstrating the growth and demand for Xiaomi products. As a further milestone of the success, today marks the launch of Mi 11 Lite 5G in Europe and, for the first time since the strategic alliance began, the phone will be launched with CK Hutchison in six European markets and sold in more stores than ever before.

Mi 11 Lite 5G is one of the thinnest smartphones at just 6.81mm and also one of the lightest at only 159g. This slim design coupled with a range of vibrant colours and a unique glass finish makes it one the most stylish and comfortable smartphones Xiaomi has ever produced. In addition, it brings all the premium innovation that people have come to expect with a Xiaomi smartphone, including an impressive 64MP triple camera and a world a debut of the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 780G. Mi 11 Lite 5G is part of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 11 series which was launched earlier in the year.
