Wales set to receive major upgrades to Three network
The network enhancements will significantly increase indoor coverage as well as bring more coverage to rural parts of Wales. Three announced the project during a meeting with stakeholders including Welsh Assembly members and the Federation of Small Business Wales.
The upgrade project, set to run until 2017, will see 4G services across Wales extended to 98% of the population, dramatically reducing coverage blackspots.
This means that customers will experience quality voice and data services in more places than ever before. Combined 3G and 4G will cover 99% of the population.
RootMetrics recently rated Three the most reliable network in Wales in its second half 2014 Reliability Index Report.
Justin Bass, Director of Legal – Marketing Consumer Regulatory and External Affairs, said: “Customers in Wales already benefit from Three’s 3G network which provides a high quality and reliable experience to our customers.
The addition of 4G on new low frequency spectrum will further improve connectivity across Wales and once complete, 98% of the Welsh population will enjoy an even better experience on our network.”
