Three UK sees continued customer and mobile data growth

  • Customer base and service revenue grows by 6%
  • 42% of base using 4G
  • Market leading data usage at 3.3GB per customer per month – growth of 60% in 2014

During 2014 Three continued to give its 8.4m customers more ways of enjoying their devices at home and abroad.

Three’s focus on providing a high quality, reliable mobile data experience saw average data usage per customer grow to 3.3GB per month from 2.0GB in December 2013.

With the continued expansion of Feel at Home, more than 1.3 million customers experienced roaming at no extra cost in 16 countries, including USA, France, Italy and Australia.

From 1st April Three will extend its unique roaming offer to Spain and New Zealand, by which point approximately 65% of all of its customers’ overseas trips will be covered by Feel At Home. Over one third of new and upgrading customers now reference Feel At Home as a key reason to be with Three.

In the last year, average data usage per Feel At Home customer was roughly 30x greater than in non-Feel At Home countries, a clear demonstration of the significant added value Three customers enjoy.

More broadly, continued network enhancements and improvements to customer service resulted in Three being named the least complained about operator by Ofcom, having been the most complained about mobile network only two years ago.
