O’Christmas Me, O’Christmas Me
Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna and Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton may be known for their time spent in front of the camera, but the tables were turned this week when the stars went behind the lens, to help shoot celebrity-style calendars for members of the public in Westfield White City.
It was all flashing lights in the Three stores in Manchester and Liverpool when Gemma and Natasha surprised shoppers for the launch of CalendarMe, the network’s Christmas app, which allows people to create the ultimate personalised calendar for 2015. In an act of pure self-indulgence, people will feature in a series of far-fetched, hilarious scenarios – appearing as a buff personal trainer, burly firefighter or bikini-clad beach babe, by simply uploading an image of their face.
In a real life version of the app, people posed against a specially installed green screen in the Three store as Gemma and Natasha, whose own calendars are set to be top sellers this Christmas, used their posing prowess to ensure each shot was picture perfect. Jungle Me, Hip-Hop Me, Superhero Me and Gym Me, were the four backdrops to choose from, encouraging shoppers to get into the silly, festive spirit.
Lianne Norry, Director of Brand and Marketing Comms from Three, added: “The CalendarMe app is all about people having fun and getting into the Christmas spirit. Our Sing It Kitty app, which launched earlier this year, proved the power of silly content that people just can’t resist sharing, and we’re hoping CalendarMe will be equally popular”.
The real-life app is touring the country this week, with a different celebrity shooting calendars in each city:
