Goat couture

In the ultimate demonstration of goat couture, the partnership has seen Three and Honor combine with fashion designers to create the attire that will be donned by race participants Hamish and Hugo – one who will represent ‘Oxford’, the other ‘Cambridge’ – in the animal kingdom’s answer to the River Thames Varsity showdown.

This year’s locking of horns takes place at Spitalfields City Farm on Saturday April 11, with all proceeds raised from the spectacle being used to support the everyday running costs of the charity farm.

The project is run by volunteers and operates a wide range of activities and opportunities for the local community and its 18,000 yearly visitors.

Brendan Arndt, lead products manager at Three, said: “When we heard about this event we just loved it, so after we looked into it more closely we were really keen find ways to support all the great work its organisers do for the local community.

“Having announced an exclusive partnership with Chinese e-commerce phone manufacturer Honor last month and with it being the Chinese year of the Goat, getting involved with the Goat Race seemed like a fitting way to mark the occasion while working to support a great local cause in the process.”

Goat Race manager, Mhairi Weir, said: “Now in its sixth year, the spiraling popularity of our beloved Goat Race never quite ceases to amaze all of us here at Spitalfields City Farm.

“The race consistently produces a level of drama and tension that even Hollywood’s best scriptwriters would struggle to come up with, and this year promises to be no different. It’s great to have Three and Honor on board to help us make the 2015 instalment extra special.”

Three is the UK’s exclusive tariff partner for the new Honor 6+ handset, available for purchase early in May.

While tickets for this year’s Goat Race are now completely sold out, you will be able to catch all of Saturday’s action from 4pm on London Live (Freeview 8, Sky 117, Virgin 159 and YouView 8).
