Tell us a little bit about yourself
I live in Birmingham with my parents, younger brother and our latest new addition to the family Rio, our (not so little!) German Shepherd. Previous to Three I’ve worked for BT and Microsoft, ranging across sales, marketing & proposition roles. Outside of work you’ll most likely catch me in the gym, drinking an iced coffee in Starbucks or watching the football – yes, I’m a very big LFC fan. I’m also the eldest grandchild and love spending time with my family, so most my weekends I’m doing crazy things with the kids. Oh, and I’m getting married this year too!
In a nutshell, describe your role and how you support our business objectives
Propositions is all about understanding the customer and creating exciting and innovative solutions for them through the development and combination of products and creating compelling propositions that resonate in the market.
As a senior propositions consultant I’m responsible for ensuring a successful end to end delivery of a new product or service being brought to market. This starts from conceptualising an idea, getting stakeholder buy in from across the business, building business cases, supporting product development and executing a strong go-to-market launch into the channels.
As a team we drive B2B revenue through competitive positioning and deliver customer and market insight through qualitative and quantitative research. We work closely with third party vendors to support product and proposition developments, targeting customer verticals with relevant solutions. Looking after the business portfolio roadmap and introducing new ideas and concepts to develop and support the company’s growth ambitions.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
A typical day starts off with focusing on market research and insights. Analysing telecoms industry news articles and reports to identify the latest trends and future focus for the industry. Meetings throughout the day consist of a daily stand-up to work on go-to-market activities for an upcoming launch, project calls to discuss an upcoming proposition being developed with technical architects and vendor meetings to support new propositional ideas to bring to market. In between meetings I usually focus my time writing content and messaging for sales enablement collateral and building slides for Go to Market readiness sessions. It’s always a full day filled with lots of propositional activities!
What is on the cards for H2 in your world?
The second half of this year is really exciting, focus will be to continue developing our propositions roadmap, introduce new ideas and build a strong business portfolio. We’ve just launched Three Business Adapt, our new way to do business with truly unlimited account level plans so I’m looking forward to seeing how that lands in the market and further evolving the proposition to continue serving the needs of business customers.
How are you finding hybrid working now we’re back in the office?
I’m a big fan of hybrid working, I tend to put on a podcast and find the drive down quite therapeutic. It’s great being able to come into such an amazing building, with great facilities and collaboration spaces for face to face interaction with colleagues.
How have you supported your personal wellbeing during the past 18 months?
Over the last few months I’ve started getting more into a routine with my fitness and diet, taking the dog for walks on my lunch breaks and starting my day a little earlier with a fitness session before work. I’ve also been keeping a gratitude jar, jotting down little things I’m grateful for each week to reflect on at the end of the year – highly recommend!
Give us a fun fact…
I interrailed across Europe, covering 10 cities with my brother in 7 days!
