VodafoneThree launches first ever apprenticeship programme
VodafoneThree will welcome apprenticeship applications for the first time since the 2025 merger between Vodafone UK and Three UK.
The programme launch follows VodafoneThree being ranked sixth in Top Employers awards, reflecting its continued commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive workplace, and to being a leading employer in the telecoms industry.
Successful applicants will benefit from hands-on experience and tailored learning while working towards individual qualifications.
As VodafoneThree works to connect every community across the UK, these apprenticeships provide the opportunity to become part of the team that is building the UK’s best network.

What do the different apprenticeship levels relate to?
Each apprenticeship programme is equivalent to a specific further or higher education qualification:
- Level 3: Equivalent to A-level qualification and typically ranges from 12-18 months in length.
- Level 4: Equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree and typically ranges from 18-24 months in length.
- Level 5: Equivalent to the second year of an undergraduate degree and typically ranges from 33-48 months in length.
- Level 6: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and typically ranges from between 3-6 years in length.
- SCQF Level 8: Equivalent to a Higher National Diploma or Diploma of Higher Education in Scotland and typically takes two years to complete.
Who pays for apprenticeships at VodafoneThree?
Qualifications are fully funded by VodafoneThree as part of the company’s contributions towards the apprenticeship levy.
This means individuals gain a valuable qualification, but without the burden of student fees or debt that other forms of higher education can involve.
What does a typical work week look like for a VodafoneThree apprentice?
For VodafoneThree apprenticeships, a working week is divided between study for the relevant qualification and putting this newfound knowledge into action.
The nature of this on-the-job practical training will depend on the chosen pathway of each apprentice.
For instance, an apprentice on the Field Engineering apprenticeship will gain first-hand experience testing network solutions in the field, while an apprentice in Data Analytics is more likely to be developing their critical analysis skills in an office environment.
Is this the first time VodafoneThree has offered apprenticeships?
While Vodafone and Three have both run their own apprenticeship programmes over the years, 2026 marks the first year that VodafoneThree apprenticeships have been available.
January 2026 saw the company invite more than 120 16-18-year-old school pupils to its Newbury headquarters for an all-day insight and mock assessment day – an event Vodafone has run previously.
Students from St Bart’s, Trinity, Park House and St Gabriels schools experienced a realistic example of the apprenticeship assessment process. This comprised interviews, group presentations and a Q&A with both past and present apprentices.
