New research from the UK’s Fastest 5G Network*, Three, reveals we’re a nation obsessed with nabbing a great deal, with almost three quarters (72%) saying bargain hunting is an essential part of British culture.
Today’s research shows the post bargain glow is real, with almost ALL (98%) saying they feel ‘on top of the world’ after securing a saving, while more than half (58%) report it can ‘make their whole week’. Data released by the mobile network, as Three customers can enjoy a range of weekly perks, rewards and discounts via the Three+ app, making those savings feel a little sweeter each week.
Study from Three reveals the weird and wonderful lengths Brits will go to secure a saving, with the average Brit not afraid to queue for a staggering seven hours to get their hands on a bargain. With almost a third (29%) admitting they have driven to an entirely different area, an average of 144 miles, or woken up in the early hours (28%) just to get a great deal – some people will do (almost) anything to nab a thrifty deal. Brits also confessed to leaving work early (22%), bailing on friends (13%) and even sneaking out of a date early (8%) to take advantage of a super saving.
For many, deal-seeking is almost a full-time job, with the nation spending on average 52 hours each week hunting for ways to save, totaling an extraordinary 112 days a year. With three-quarters (78%) heading online and scouring for deals, it’s clear to see how vital phones and tablets have become a nation of thrifty shoppers.
